Health Paraprofessional

Omni Childhood Center is currently seeking Health Paraprofessionals to support children receiving Early Intervention/CPSE Services.

 

Pay & Benefits: $30/hour - above the NYC average for paraprofessionals

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

  • Para/Aide Training Certificate — training provided at no cost to hired candidates*

  • NYC Department of Education fingerprinting — Omni Childhood Center guides candidates through the full process**

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident ("Green Card" holder), or hold a valid EAD (Employment Authorization Document/work permit)

What does a Health Paraprofessional do? 

A Health Paraprofessional provides one-on-one support to a student during the school day, working under the direction of the classroom teacher and the student's service team. Responsibilities include assisting with mobility and positioning, monitoring the student's health status throughout the day, supporting safe participation in classroom activities, and communicating observations to the school team. The role is assigned through the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).

At Omni Childhood Center, Health Paraprofessionals are placed with students ages 5–21 receiving CSE services across Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island.

What we do:

Omni Childhood Center is a multidisciplinary agency serving children and students across New York City through three NYC Public Schools pathways:

  • Early Intervention (birth–3) — Developmental Evaluations, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Audiology, Special Education, Parent and Caregiver Training, Service Coordination, and Family Support

  • CPSE (ages 3–5) — Special Education, SEIT, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Counseling, and Parent and Caregiver Training

  • CSE (ages 5–21) — Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Counseling, and Health Paraprofessional support
